Bitcoin ETFs post third straight weekly inflows despite $465 million in late-week losses
U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs recorded their third consecutive week of inflows with $33.79 million for the week ended July 24, 2026, despite $465.26 million in outflows on Thursday and Friday. The streak marks the first three-week inflows run since early May, following eight consecutive weeks of outflows.
Bitcoin ETF flows have turned positive for three consecutive weeks, but the rebound remains tentative. U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs recorded inflows of $33.79 million for the week ended July 24, 2026, marking their third consecutive week of gains, according to CoinDesk. However, the weekly total masks sharp late-week selling: the products shed $465.26 million on Thursday and Friday, with net outflows of approximately $225.2 million on July 23 and $240.1 million on July 24 respectively.
The three-week inflows streak is the first since early May. It follows eight consecutive weeks of outflows dating back to the week ended May 15. The previous two weeks had recorded inflows of $197 million and $75.67 million respectively.
Bitcoin rallied to a July high of over $66,500 on Tuesday before retreating below $64,000 by week's end. The price retreat occurred amid profit-taking and weak action in the stock market, with the Nasdaq 100 pulled down by chipmaker stocks, according to CoinDesk.
The vast majority of late-week activity was concentrated in BlackRock's IBIT product, which accounted for nearly $415 million of the outflows. This concentration suggests limited diversification of inflows across the broader ETF landscape.
Crypto analytics firm BRN described the inflows as cautious, telling CoinDesk: "After May and June's heavy outflows, July's repair phase has brought relief, but institutional demand is still cautious." The firm's characterization implies the weekly gains are not as powerful as those typically observed during bull runs.
According to the desk's ETF flows board, bitcoin ETFs logged a net inflow of $16.2 million on July 21, 2026, with cumulative inflows of $51.648 billion year-to-date.
Bitcoin ETFs logged $33.79 million in inflows for the week ended July 24, the third straight weekly gain, but BlackRock's IBIT product accounted for nearly $415 million of late-week outflows.
Watch for whether the three-week inflow streak sustains into August and whether bitcoin price stabilizes above $64,000, which would validate institutional demand. The rebound narrative breaks if outflows resume, if BlackRock's IBIT product continues to dominate sell-side activity, or if bitcoin price retreats further despite positive ETF flows.
And that's the way it is.
