S&P Global Leads $110 Million Extension of Kaiko Series B Funding
S&P Global led a strategic investment extending Kaiko's Series B funding to $110 million, more than double the $53 million original raise in 2022. Joining S&P Global were BNP Paribas, Bpifrance, Broadridge, Nasdaq Ventures, Royal Bank of Canada, and nine other financial and venture firms. The funding follows S&P Dow Jones Indices and Kaiko's September 1 launch of 4,000-plus digital asset indices.
S&P Global led a strategic investment extending Kaiko's Series B to $110 million, more than double the $53 million original raise announced in July 2022. According to The Defiant, the extension round included BNP Paribas, Bpifrance, Broadridge, Canton Foundation, Coinbase Ventures, DRW Venture Capital, Nasdaq Ventures, Royal Bank of Canada, Stellar, and Susquehanna Private Equity Investments, alongside earlier shareholders Anthemis, Point Nine, and Revaia.
Kaiko provides digital-asset market data covering more than 150 exchanges and protocols. The funding will expand its core market-data business and develop infrastructure designed to deliver proprietary data to smart contracts, convert onchain financial activity into standardized offchain formats, and support confidential valuation and analytics, according to The Defiant's reporting.
The investment follows a product partnership between S&P Global and Kaiko announced on September 1. S&P Dow Jones Indices and Kaiko introduced the S&P Kaiko Digital Asset Indices suite, which launched with more than 4,000 rates and indices. Kaiko provides data sourcing and calculation; S&P supplies benchmark administration, licensing, and distribution.
The participating institutions also formed a strategic industry working group chaired by Kaiko to address data and infrastructure requirements for bringing tokenized products into production. Tokenized Treasury bills, money market funds, equities, and bonds will require data systems capable of operating beyond conventional trading hours, according to The Defiant's reporting.
The $110 million total reflects investor confidence in Kaiko's positioning as institutional finance moves toward tokenized assets.
S&P Global and 12 other major investors extended Kaiko's Series B to $110 million to build data infrastructure for tokenized markets.
The next measure of this consortium's commitment will be the timeline for live deployment of Kaiko's onchain data infrastructure into production tokenized-asset platforms: any material delay would suggest the investor coalition is positioning for adoption rather than expecting imminent scaled demand.
